PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
IDROREPEL is a protective agent based on special siloxanes diluted in an inert solvent mixture. IDROREPEL is characterized by a very-low viscosity. Hydro-repellent properties prevent the absorption of water (also of the salts/pollutants dissolved in it) inside the treated substrates. The product does not modify the color appearance of the surface, respecting its original characteristics.
IDROREPEL can be applied to the most common surfaces used on façades, including natural stone of all types, cement and microcements, exposed brickwork, finishes and coats and other architectural elements: IDROREPEL‘s protective action does not entail major changes to the substrate’s breathability and its permeability to water vapour, it does not alter its colour appearance, and it has high UV resistance.
Before applying IDROREPEL it is necessary to carry out a cleaning pass on the surface, so that it is well degreased, and wait for it to dry completely. This preliminary cleaning step is essential to enable the correct application of the protective coating and allow it to be effective for a long time and to its full potential.
THE ADVANTAGES OF IDROREPEL
- SOLVENT BASED PRODUCT: this allows IDROREPEL great penetration capacity and permanence, even on less porous surfaces.
- HIGH WATER REPELLING: the product gives the treated surfaces high water-repellent properties, protecting them from chemical aggression and erosion caused by atmospheric agents and runoff water.
- DOES NOT ALTER POROSITY: the material retains its original porosity and breathability.
- DOES NOT CREATE SURFACE FILMS: the product is impregnating and does not create films on treated surfaces.
- TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC DATA SHEET: The product is accompanied by a technical-scientific data sheet, which contains detailed information and technical data on application methods and technical operation.

EXAMPLE OF FAÇADE APPLICATION
The façade of this building in Milan, with exposed brickwork and decorative elements in stone and plaster, was the subject of an extraordinary restoration operation. Cleaning removed dark traces of smog and light traces caused by salt efflorescence: thus prepared, the façade was treated with IDROREPEL to preserve its appearance over time.
For application on large surfaces, as in this case, it is convenient to use low-pressure atomisation systems, which allow the product to be applied quickly and evenly, avoiding waste and excessive product build-up.
WASHOUT TEST ON STONE SAMPLE IN LABORATORY
This test clearly illustrates the difference in the behaviour of an untreated natural stone surface subjected to the flow of water compared to the same surface treated with IDROREPEL. While the untreated surface becomes impregnated with water, turning dark, the treated surface is highly water-repellent: water does not penetrate into the material and flows over the surface, creating small droplets that dry quickly.
